Barbecue ribs are in the crockpot. They will be yummy with the potato salad and coleslaw leftover from yesterday. These are so easy, just throw boneless country style pork ribs into the crockpot with a bottle of barbecue sauce and cook all day. They are smelling soooo good!
He's keeping an eye on the birds and chipmunks at the bird feeder.
I had a sudden impulse to crochet some placemats for my kitchen last week. I found the perfect colors but I'm not sure I like how they are pooling.
This is a closeup. I'm just doing single crochet, no pattern fot this.
I guess I will keep going for awhile and see how I feel about it when it's done. I can always re-do it.
And the highlight of my week was our little soccer star....
Granddaughter #2 is the one with the blue head band. The little girl with pink shoes is her cousin. They are having a blast! A soccer game with 4 and 5 year olds is very entertaining!
Hope your weekend was wonderful.
'Til next time
Peace
Those ribs sound tasty! I think the place mats will look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy, the ribs were falling apart yummy.
DeleteI think the variegated yarns work up differently when you crochet them rather than knit. But I like how your table mats are turning out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gillian, I think I will try knitting to see if I like the look better.
DeleteThe barbecued ribs sound yummy. I can almost smell them cooking now. I like the way your placemats are turning out, but Knitting them will make them pool differently. It could be fun to try it that way. It looks like your granddaughter is having a great time at soccer. So nice you get to go cheer her on. Blessings, Betsy
ReplyDeleteI almost always knit....for some reason I wanted to crochet these. I will try knitting and we will see how it looks. We are very fcortunate to have our granddaughters close and be able to attend so many of their activities.
DeleteI love those placemats and have learned something new. I did not know it was called "pooling" when certain colours are all together. I have a photo of a dishcloth I knit on my blog tomorrow and I see certain colours have "pooled," as well.
ReplyDeleteGill, pooling can sometimes be the look you want. The more I look at mine the more I'M ok with it but I'm going to play with it a bit to see if I can get a different result.
