Knitting Woes

I swear, this is an easy pattern.

I have made this little top several times without a problem.
Suddenly I seem to have forgotten how to count or maybe I have forgotten how to read a pattern.
I got this far.....

And discovered this.....

Can you tell the button hole is on one side on the top (right side of picture) and on the other side in the middle?

To make it worse, this is the 3rd go at this sweater.  I have had to frog it (rip it out) twice before because I apparently forgot how to count and messed up making the little holes design around the top.

Now it looks like this.........again.  (sigh)

Third time is the charm...right?  Well, we will see.  It's really an easy-peasy top if you can count.

Sometimes knitting is fun and relaxing.

Sometimes it requires fortitude and persistence.  I think this is one of those times.
Stay tuned.

Til next time,
Peace

  1. Ha! I"ve been working on simple flared knit tank top since May and still have not finished the front. But then I have been knitting all of like five months!

  2. Oh dear! I'm sure you'll get it right this time. I've had plenty of ripping out experiences myself.

  3. I admire you for doing this. I don't think I would have the patience to knit!

  4. Sometimes you just have to do something else for a while! I know all about the ripping out--knitting and sewing. It is in the Bible--as you sew, so shall you rip.

  5. I would have sewn a pretty butterfly over the top of the hole. :-)

I love your purplish yarn choice. Give it a bit of a time out ....and it will behave.

  7. yep third time is the charm. You have to do it, as that yarn colour is so nice. If you have time would you mind visiting my friends blog tomorrow and saying hello, the link will be in Friday's blog post. Thanks I appreciate it.

  8. lol I've been making a LOT of these exact sweaters lately. About the 5th one in, I could not get the count right to save my life! I ripped it out, knit it again, ripped it out, knit it again about 3 times before I got it right. I have no idea why. I had already made several. Oh well. I finally got it done right...and have made several since.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  9. Hang in there! Thank you for connecting me with this pattern. I am working on my second one with my fingers crossed as I've tried to enlarge it for an almost 8 year old. The first one is finished and looks great on Stella.
